Sentimental and nice music evening

two comments, already |
Today I really had a very nice evening. Although I had severe problems with my computer, see below, I had time to just do a lot of things in our appartment and even have time to sit outside on the balcony and enjoy the nice weather, with a Zindorfer Langbeer and a nice cigar with it (Still thanks for those Fenno, I'm still enjoying the ones you gave me on my goobye party).
The last part of the evening I'm using to listen to the music of Harrie Jekkers. One of the best of his songs is never published on an album, only on the one 'Het geheim van de Koffietent'. For people who are interested please listen to it here.

Sometimes when I'm listening to his songs I'm thinking back to the old days, like the last year on highschool where it seems that everything was possible..... to bad it all went over that quick

Again problems with my computer, I really hate that machine sometimes. Yesterday I saw a Apple Cube with a friend of Aiyue, and that is really a nice machine, to bad that is also has 'a-really-nice-machine-price'...
So now time for a good book and some cups of coffee, because windows 2000 will be installed (again)...

They are only in function for one day, and already (after nine hours !!) one of our fresh cabinet members (how do I say this correctly?) left her post. She somehow forgotten that she was in a militia during the december murders in Dutch-Guinea. She thought she left that militia before the murders, but now information leaked out that it was after the murders.... wow.... imagine that, some of the most horrible things that happen in your country and you don't remember if you did something before or after that...
Well, at least our PM can still dance.. have a look at

Just some interesting articles I found on the net... Probably not all as legal available as I want, because of the bit "Do Not Copy" in the background

Well, at the moment I'm spending a lot of my time behind my Linux machine in order to get it working again with all the features that I want to have. One of the things I'm working on now is getting my Philips ToUcam XS to work with linux, but that is not so easy as it looks.... Somehow that chip they use (the ov518) is not really supported, so it will be hardcore hacking to get it working.

During my master assignment I find it sometimes quite difficult to get the academic thrill you need to hang on. Working within a big multinational production company which is used to clear pragmatic ways of working sometimes conflicts with the academic research we are supposed to do for the master assignment.
During this weekend I had the idea of contacting some people at the
Friedrich-Alexander University here in Erlangen and Nürnberg to ask if they would be able to help me out a little bit. I just send the email and hope to get a reply soon. They have somehow three chairs of Business Information Sytems:
Hope I picked out the right one

Ok, like I told I was in the
Alpen last weekend, and it was my first time there. Because of the bad weather we could not go
klettersteigen (the real rough work) but we had a very nice weeked. Ok, I'm walking a little bit difficult now, because my new shoes were giving to much pressure at my Achillus heel..
more stories later, when I'm not in the office.....

I've had this movie, the telented Mr. Ripley, on my computer for a long time already, but wasn't able to play it because the sound did't work. Today I finally figured it out, because the movie had AC3 encoded sound. After downloading the correct codecs from
http://www.doom9.net/ it all worked fine. I can really advice this movie to everyone, if not for the fantastic story than for the beautiful images.

Weekends are becoming to be very nice again. Last few weeks the weekend were just an opportunity to study for my final exam, but since that is all over I can use the weekend for usefull stuff...
Nicoen and Nerden... I'm making a nice extra desk, because we have a little bit too much stuff to take care of and my own desk is already completely full..Below the picture:
This desk is quite simple, I just took 2 planken (??? what is the english word for that???) and put them together. This way I can still use them when the desk will make place for a guest bed to make some bookshelves. As you can see it is already taken by my server, so I can start playing with Linux again.... it was just too long ago
If you have a look at the
weblog of Coen you can see that he accused me of things. It has something to do with the quote below (in Dutch):
01-07-2002 |
You're welcome Coen
Last Exam............finally!!!

Yesterday I had my Last Exam ever (with this program).... Strange that I was a little bit tensed for the first time for an exam, partly because I had to learn it all next to doing my final thesis, so in the evenings and partly I think because it was so important to pass this one, because than it's over... Luckily it was quite doable, because this time I memorised the book in stead of thinking I could reason my way out of questions...and it paid off
So now you will see me a little bit more on this log, finally time to do something and with the DSL-connection that problem is also solved.
