Webcam Support in Linux..

Wednesday : 17 Jul '02 - 19:41 | admin default

Well, at the moment I'm spending a lot of my time behind my Linux machine in order to get it working again with all the features that I want to have. One of the things I'm working on now is getting my Philips ToUcam XS to work with linux, but that is not so easy as it looks.... Somehow that chip they use (the ov518) is not really supported, so it will be hardcore hacking to get it working.

At least I found a driver at http://alpha.dyndns.org/ov511/ which should get met somewhere, but somehow my systems didn't had a cc compiler installed... duuuh!

Update soon :-) (hopefully)
